A press release has been issued by the American Government claiming that Belize, along with Haiti and Samoa, have been banned from applying for H-2A (agricultural) and H-2B (non-agricultural) Work Visas.
According to the press release, the decision to ban Belize comes from the countries poor standings when it comes to Human Trafficking.
The 2017 US State Department Report on Human Trafficking states that Belize is ranked as one of the worst in all of Central America and has a Tier 3 rating.
The report further stated that Belize is a huge source in the transit and destination for men, women, and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor.
Samoa has been added due to the fact that they refuse to accept any of their people that the US attempt to deport while Haiti has been added due to the fact that many of them do not leave the US after their work visas expire.
