Jafari Castro Gets Arraigned In Court

Today, 21-year-old, Jafari Castro, son of Transport Minister, Edmond Castro, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a single count of harm, with respect to the assault of Kevin Brown.

Castro was jointly charged with James Young and Gilbert Franklin, who all pleaded not guilty.

Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraizer granted them bail in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety, on the condition that they surrender all travel documents and refrain from having any contact with Brown or his family.

They are scheduled to return to court on October 18,2017.

Castro’s lawyer, Herbert Panton, asked that the court set a date for disclosure and full trial, given the amount of evidence police claim to have on the accused.

Attorney Dickie Bradley, represented Franklin and Young.
