Just less than two months ago, Corozaleños were shocked to discover that a North American Couple that had gone missing were found killed, their bodies dumped in the middle of nowhere with their hands duct taped together, their vehicle was found quite a distance away.
Up to this point not a single suspect has been charged for the crime, in fact we believe the case has gone cold and Corozal Police have forgotten all about it.
Now fast forward to the first week of June, Corozaleños were finally recovering from the brutal murder when suddenly they got the news of another couple missing, this time they were Belizeans.
Many hoped that they were safe and sound and just decided on a last minute decision to run away together or something of the sort.
That is until the Corozal Police received a call claiming the vehicle belonging to Zeidy Orozco, one half of the missing couple, was found abandoned and burnt to a crisp out in the middle of nowhere.
Does that sound a bit familiar?
That is when the search parties began to form and they set out in search of the missing couple, still hoping that they were alive.
But that hope ended on Wednesday when the bodies of Zeidy Orozco and Balthazar Lopez were discovered quite a distance away from where their vehicle was discovered, in a forested area near the local Garbage Dump Site, located on Consejo Road.
Does that sound a bit familiar as well?
Is this a pattern?
Perhaps it is just a coincidence that both cases are similar.
This is what was in mind since we have not received the autopsy report yet so we do not know if they were killed the same way.
But then this morning we received an email containing a picture of the crime scene where the bodies were found and we found something truly shocking, at the bottom center of the image, laying on the ground is some strips of duct tape and you can clearly see that it looks like fresh strips that were just recently left there.
We have absolutely no clue as to whether Police Officers on scene noticed it or whether they took note of it as the case is still under investigation but that surely can not be yet another coincidence, can it?
Either way, we ask all Belizeans especially our fellow Corozaleños to be cautious when going out, especially at night and do not stop for hitch hikers or people you may know, it’s better to be cautious and alive and of course if you see any suspicious activities around you, be sure to call and report it in to the local authorities.
* We have included the image showing the strips of duct tape laying on the ground but have blurred the rest of the image containing the bodies of the deceased couple in respect to them and their families.
