Cane Farmer Found Dead In His Field

On Friday, July 7th, 2017 at around 2:11 PM, members of the Orange Walk Police were called out to a cane field located just on the outskirts of San Estevan Village.

They were escorted about 1½ miles into the field via a feeder road and that is where they found the lifeless body of 45-year-old, Manuel Novelo, a Belizean Cane Farmer of San Estevan Village.

Novelo was reported to have been found laying on the ground, face up and with no visible wounds leading Police Officers to believe that no foul play was involved and that he died of natural causes.

The body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk Town where it now awaits a post mortem examination.
