Belizean Duo Being Sought By Mexican Authorities For Assaulting A Taxi Driver

Mexican Media in Chetumal, Quintana Roo report that two Belizean men are currently being sought by Mexican Authorities after they assaulted a Mexican Taxi Driver and stole his vehicle.

According to the report, the taxi driver picked up two Belizean men from in front of one of the casinos located at the Commercial Duty Free Zone.

The men asked the taxi driver to take them to an address in Chetumal, Quintana Roo but on the way to their destination both men began to assault the taxi driver.

The taxi driver managed to jump out of the moving vehicle to escape his attackers but injured his elbow and right ankle while doing so.

As for the Belizean men in the taxi, they were reported to have gotten into the front seats of the taxi and drove off in it heading back towards the Belize / Mexico Border.

Both men managed to enter Belize before Mexican Authorities could catch up to them and have since asked for the assistance of Belizean Authorities as Mexico has no jurisdiction on Belizean soil.

The Belizean Authorities are currently looking for the two men who have not been identified at this time.
